Oceanize is a proud sponsor of Rørvik IL Fotball (RILFotball), which this year chose medals made of recycled plastic for the Kystbycupen, a football cup for children and young people aged 6 to 14. The medals are made from recycled rope from Norwegian aquaculture.

– As we are Norway's largest aquaculture municipality, we thought it was a perfect fit to use material from the industry that means so much out here, says John Anders Dahl in RIL Fotball.
Oceanize entered into a cooperation agreement with Rørvik IL Fotball in 2023 with the aim of supporting the latter's activity offerings for children and youth, while also working together on environmental impact and sustainability. Therefore, it is extra nice that the initiative for the medals comes from the club itself.
– We thought it was really fun. We work every day to show that plastic from aquaculture can be reused, so this was a really cool project to be a part of, says Dagfinn Hammer, CEO of Oceanize
For Oceanize, the collaboration is about more than just sponsorship. It's about contributing to the local community while also highlighting the importance of smarter resource use. Medals made from recycled plastic are a concrete example of the circular economy.
– Each medal is proof that what is often seen as trash can actually be turned into new products if it is delivered for recycling, smiles Elisabeth Drag Leirvik, marketing and communications manager at Oceanize.
The medals are designed and produced by Premi in Trondheim, part of Plasteriet , made from rope granules from Oceanize.
