From 1 February 2024, Retura NT will have full responsibility for container rental and collection of commercial waste from customers in Ytre Namdal. This comes after Retura NT signed the agreement to purchase the container park and customer portfolio from recycling company Oceanize AS just before the New Year.
– In the short term, customers will not experience any major practical changes other than a new, local contact person, says General Manager Sigve Hallager of Retura NT.
The sale of the container park and the customer portfolio with commercial customers refines Oceanize as a recycling company. The company is now strengthening its focus on plastic recycling, according to acting CEO Johan Saugestad.
– We specialize in developing Oceanize as the leading company in plastic recycling in Norway. This involves new investments and industrialization of a traceable value chain from the collection of plastic along our coast, via granulation at Matmortua to increased use of recycled plastic in new products, says Saugestad.
Oceanize's new production line for rope granulation is now in place, and will be commissioned for production in January.
– This increases our production capacity by a new 3,500 tons of plastic granules per year, says Saugestad.
